As an indigenous bank, 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited has always demonstrated a keen interest in educating the masses. To quote one of our astute Nobel Laureates, Sir Arthur Lewis, “the fundamental cure for poverty is not money, but knowledge”. Through its commitment to education and the establishment of the Francis J. Carasco Memorial Scholarship, and The Ferrel V. Charles Scholarship, the Bank continues to contribute meaningfully to the development and growth of the nation.

The scholarship is open to shareholders and their children, who are seeking to pursue studies at the university level in the area of Banking or any related field.
The Francis J. Carasco Memorial Scholarship has already enriched many lives since its inception in 1993. This scholarship fund was established at the behest of the shareholders who saw it fit to give back to the community, by providing access to higher education. The scholarship is open to shareholders and their children who are seeking to pursue studies at the university level in the area of Banking or any related field. The highly anticipated fund is awarded on a triennial basis.
In the past years, recipients undertook studies in Economics, Business Management, Finance, Computer Science and Accounting.
