Frequently Asked Questions
When will 1NB acquire RBC local operations?
1NB will acquire RBC local operations on April 1, 2021 (Day 1) following completion of payment and various legal activities related to closing the transaction.
What will Day 1 look like?
On Day 1, very little will change and business will continue as normal for all customers. We will have a number of in-bank activities which will be shared at a later date.
Will I still be able to do business at my current banking location?
Yes, all services will continue to be offered at your current 1NB branch.
As a 1st National Bank customer, will I be able to conduct business at former RBC locations?
No, at Day 1 1NB will begin the conversion of RBC systems. Until otherwise advised, all existing 1NB customers will be required to access banking services at only the original 1NB locations.
As a former RBC customer, will I be able to conduct business at all 1st National Bank locations?
No, until the system are fully integrated, all former RBC customers are required to conduct ATM and banking business at the Micoud Street and Baywalk branches.
As a 1st National Bank customer, will I be able to use former RBC ATMs?
Yes, however, until the IT systems are fully converted (approximately 6 months after Day 1), any business conducted at a RBC ATM will attract the usual charges.
As a former RBC customer, will I be able to use 1st National Bank ATMs?
Yes, however, until the IT systems are fully converted (approximately 6 months after Day 1), any business conducted at a 1st National Bank ATM will attract the usual charges.
Will there be any changes to the current products/services being offered?
Our suite of products is not expected to change immediately, but, over time, we intend to enhance them.
Will my deposit/loan accounts be affected by the acquisition?
No, you can expect to continue to receive the same high quality of service. 1st National Bank’s standard terms and conditions will apply.
Will there be a change in my credit card?
There will be no changes made to credit cards, fees, benefits or other arrangements in the short to medium term. Any changes will be communicated in advance.
Will there be any changes to my current fees?
There will be no immediate changes to your current fees, benefits or other arrangements. Any changes will be communicated in advance.
What are the benefits of the acquisition to our customers?
