RBC/RBTT Credit Card Conversion to 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited.

Please be reminded that in December 2019, RBC Royal Bank (“RBC”) announced the sale of its Eastern Caribbean banking operations to a consortium of local banks across the region. RBC’s operations in St. Lucia, was acquired by 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited on April 1st, 2021.

Our records indicate that you hold an RBC/RBTT credit card. Please note that effective October 12th, 2021, your RBC/RBTT-issued credit card will no longer be functional.  A replacement card will be issued to you by 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited by September 21st, 2021.  Any outstanding balances on your RBC/RBTT-issued card will also be transferred to your new 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited Visa credit card.  Additionally, payments will now be due on the 28th of every month.

It is important to note that 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited. does not issue Mastercards. Therefore, all Mastercards will be transferred to Visa, with the same benefits you have been accustomed to receiving.

What do you need to do?

Your new 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited Visa Credit Card will be available for pick-up at your home branch on Micoud Street or Bay Walk Mall, from September 21st, 2021. Please collect your card before October 12th, 2021, to ensure that you experience no service interruptions. Note that your card will still be available for pick-up at the branch after this date, however you may experience service interruptions.

What do I do with my existing RBC/RBTT Credit Card?

Your Balance as of October 12th, 2021, will be transferred to your new 1st National Bank Visa credit card. Once you are in possession of your new 1st National Bank Visa Credit Card and this card has been fully activated; please destroy the RBC/RBTT Credit Card by cutting in half.

Will my pre-authorized payments, attached to my existing RBC/RBTT Credit Card be affected?

Payments via your existing RBC/RBTT Credit Card will no longer be possible after October 12th, 2021.  As such, upon receipt of your new 1st National Bank Visa Credit Card Number, you need to update the Card Number on file for your pre-authorized payments to ensure they continue without interruption.

Can I still make payments to my existing RBC/RBTT Credit Card?

Yes, you can, but only prior to October 12th, 2021.

Prior to October 12th, 2021, all existing methods of Payment will be allowed to your RBC/RBTT Credit Card – Digital Banking; Over the Counter including Standing Orders.

However, after October 12th, 2021, you will no longer be allowed to make payments to the RBC/RBTT Credit Card. This Card will be closed, and your balance transferred to your 1st National Bank Visa credit card and payments will now be payable to your new Visa Credit Card.

Will there be a change to my payment due date?

Yes. Your payment due date will change to the 28th, of every month.

Can I transfer my RBC/RBTT Rewards Points (where applicable) to my 1st National Bank Visa Credit Card?

These points are non-transferrable. To ensure the RBC Rewards points on purchases will be available to you before your RBC Rewards Visa Platinum card services end, the recommended last day for purchases with your card is October 11th, 2021.  The last date you can redeem your accumulated points through RBC rewards is October 7th, 2021.  Any points not redeemed by this date will be credited to your account, as a payment, within 60 days of transfer.

What type of Product will I get from 1st National Bank?

It is important to note that 1st National Bank does not issue Mastercards.  Therefore, all Mastercards will be transferred to Visa, with the same benefits you have been accustomed to receiving.  All other products remain the same.

Can I switch to my new 1st National Bank Visa Credit Card prior to the Conversion?

This will not be possible prior to October 12th, 2021. Your existing RBC/RBTT Credit Card will be closed as at that date, at which time, your new 1st National Bank Visa Credit Card will be activated.
