1st National Bank St. Lucia Ltd, St. Lucia’s first indigenous bank, made history yet again by capturing the Bracken Award – Bank of the Year 2021 St. Lucia title, for three years in a row. The announcement was made on December 2nd, 2021, in London, via a virtual ceremony. The prestigious Bracken Award is named after Brendan Bracken, the founding editor of the Banker in 1926 and the modern-day Financial Times from 1945 to 1958. Brendan Bracken epitomizes the global spirit, vision and integrity of the Banker and the Financial Times Group, and the winning of a Bracken is a fitting accolade and recognition for the world’s top financial institutions.
In accepting the award, Executive Manager Marketing and Public Relations Robert Fevrier had this to say: “This award is a testament to the vision of our leadership team, Board of Directors and Management as well as the innovation, expertise and commitment of our dedicated and loyal employees, who remain our greatest asset.”
We also recognize the massive amount of work done by our former Managing Director Mr. Johnathan Johannes in inspiring us on this journey. We share this award with him and thank him immensely for his guidance, leadership and unselfishly sharing his vast knowledge and experience with the Team at 1st National Bank particularly over the last four years.
These are challenging times. More so, given the fact that we are facing the COVID-19 pandemic which tests our resilience as a people and our ability to adjust to the new economic realities. This current situation is unprecedented and requires each of us to play our part for our personal survival and that of our country. We continue to engage and reassure our customers by providing financial advice and solutions, including the most comprehensive relief packages in the Bank’s history. This COVID-19 relief package took the form of a moratorium on loan repayments, the waiver of several fees and temporary revolving of working capital financing options for individuals, corporate entities and Medium Small Micro Enterprises (MSME’s).
We continue to encourage our customers to migrate to our safe, secure and reliable E-channels, where they can transact business from the comfort of their homes and offices to reduce contact in branches as much as possible, for the safety of all. To facilitate a customer-friendly migration, the Bank invested in upgrades to our MoBanking platforms, card services, products and ATMs, all geared towards demonstrating our commitment to delivering superior products and services to our loyal and valued customers.
1st National Bank is proud of its 225 employees and their dedication to service excellence and thank all our customers for banking with the most award-winning Bank in St. Lucia. We must thank our Board of Directors for their stewardship of the Bank, growing the Bank to unprecedented levels.
We live our tagline” …Here for YOU!”
